Biotin

Biotin (sometimes referred to as Vitamin B-7 or Vitamin H) is one of a group of 8 water-soluble B-vitamins. Biotin facilitates the metabolization of fatty acids, glucose, and amino acids. It also helps with gene regulation and cell signaling. Biotin may also be beneficial to hair/skin/nail growth, especially when taken alongside Vitamin A.

Bacteria in the gut converts biotin after it is ingested. Small amounts can be stored in the liver, but the body itself does not produce biotin, so it must be supplied through diet and/or supplements regularly. Along with other B-vitamins, biotin plays a key role in metabolic energy production.
